MICROELECTRONICS, OPTOELECTRONICS AND ELECTRONICS TECHNOLOGIES
Our team has conducted a number of market studies and projects on behalf of individual companies covering microelectronics, optoelectronics and other electronic technologies. These include:
- Identification of key commercial markets and the subsequent development of a commercially targeted demonstrator for University of Strathclyde Logical Image Processing PoC project. As a result of this work, the team have established links to market and have initiated initial discussions with large multinational camera manufacturers, MoD, US Navy and the Police
- We conducted extensive desk and field market research on the tier one and tier two PC and notebook manufacturers and assemblers in the UK and across Europe for a sub-contractor supplying chasse, cables and components into this market
- We conducted an international business development project for a large European company that recycles and resells old and obsolete IT and Telecoms equipment. This examined how key users of IT equipment in Europe currently dispose of such equipment, their plans to meet the demands of EU directives in this area, and opportunities for our client to provide a service to dispose of their "end of life" equipment.
- We managed a review of the European market for digital television. This research comprised a summary of digital terrestrial television launch dates, information on standards and a detailed report on prospects in each market including the projected uptake of set-top boxes in each country
- Two of our consultants have conducted assignments involving keyboards. The first involved market testing on the ergonomics of a new keyboard; while in the second we helped developed a business strategy focused on international expansion for a manufacturer of membrane keyboards for a niche vertical.
